I like the visuals of Daft Punk as much as their music. Some faves from dA artists....

On October 21st my company, Eyes On Walls, is bringing one of our published artists all the way from Russia for a solo show at the historic Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, Canada.

The artist is Lora Zombie (dA user lora-zombie) and the show is called "Drugs and Unicorns." It will feature 67 original works plus some special limited editions and maybe even a life-sized Unicorn. ;)

If you're able to be in the area you should really really come, if not, click the poster below and check out the show preview pieces and the video of her working in her studio. It's going to be really cool and we'll be keeping everything well updated so even if you can't attend you can see what Lora came up with for this event.

Word is that dA prodigies Heidi and chris will be riding a magical vessel all the way from Los Angeles to attend and my fellow Canuckistanian residents and dA staff wizards starvingartist and moonbeam13 will be stopping by for some art, drinks and music as well. :)

I hope to see you there! Clickity click click for more info and show preview pieces.

When are you happiest?
When things go my way.

What is your greatest fear?
Being killed like this: bit.ly/eIdGTZ (thanks chris for the lovely link to haunt my dreams)

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Although I'm pretty good at getting things done, if there is a task I don't like for any number of reasons I can procrastinate on getting it done like nobody else I know.

What's been your most embarrassing moment?
There are so many to choose from. When I was around 15 I once slipped and fell down a steep muddy hill in front of a huge line of ~200 people. I had to get up at the bottom completely covered in mud and my own blood and go and stand in the line.

What is your most treasured possession?
I would say all the art I've bought over the years, but my subconscious torments me in dreams about losing my phone, laptop or wallet.. so probably one of those things.

What is your most unappealing habit?
Sometimes I'm not a good listener.

What do you owe your parents?
A lot, I have the best parents anyone could ever hope for.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?
Things and people have come and gone, but one constant is that I've always loved the work I was doing.

What has been your biggest disappointment?
That I haven't been able to overcome certain obstacles in my life.

If you could go back in time, where would you go?
Meh, I'd rather go forward.

What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
If my obnoxious next door neighbors and their yappy dogs were relocated to Siberia.

What keeps you awake at night?
Stress.

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
That you can't give up on getting what you want.

It's hard to believe it has been over 6 months since my last day at dA. It's amazing how quickly it has gone by although I have been keeping myself quite busy with moving across the continent (awesome road trip - LA > Vegas > Vail > Omaha > Chicago > Montreal) and getting situated with the new gig and whatnot.

I find I have reverted to using dA the way I did before I joined the staff. I still visit the site almost daily but I use it pretty much exclusively to browse art.

Adjusting to a new city is interesting and challenging all at once. Toronto is different from LA in a lot of ways, good and bad. I like that it has a more typical city set up of a central downtown core with everything you need within walking or short cab ride distance. It's amazingly clean compared to LA and I love the fall season here, I missed it a lot (it has been 4 years since I've been in Canada for the fall). On the downside I miss the huge creative population of LA, banker/suit types are definitely the dominant population in Toronto. Going to fancy restaurants in a hoodie and flip flops is much less acceptable here than in LA. :)

Of course I miss the friends I made in my years in LA but I'll be visiting soon enough, and I'm doing my best to keep in touch with everyone. On the flip side it's great to be close to some longtime friends and of course my family here though.

I've been super busy working on a lot of stuff that is been slowly being released or is being released soon. For those who have asked what I'm up to now, if you'd like to keep up with my scrappy little art company follow our Facebook page, or sign up for our mailing list on our site.

Hot TV tip: If you like the show Entourage, check out this TV show called How to Make it in America.

That's all I've got for now, I miss you dudes. Let me know what you've been up to the last few months!
